City of 'Plau am See'
A visit to the village Plau am See including a stroll along the 'Elde' promenade is a must. From the watergate to the lifting bridge past old lovingly renovated half timbered buildings. Further highlights are the Tower Plau with its 3m thick walls and its dungeon as well as the city church St. Marien where the 'Music Summer Plau' takes place during the summer months with varying concerts every Wednesday from end of June until beginning of September.
On and around Lake Plau
A journey around Lake Plau adds up to 60 km. The countryside varies greatly, the shore is well accesible and unspoilt. Besides lush nature there is a great number of cultural-historical places that hikers, cyclers or nordic walkers can discover - for example prehistoric barrows and stone graves as well as remains of old hill forts.
In the nature protection area of the Plau municipal woods trails lead through a wild beech grove full of swamps and lakes that are home to remarkable plants and animals. Those who prefer to journey on water can explore the nature off-shore on bord of our cruise ships starting from the city Plau or directly from the landing stage at the hotel.
Cyclers can take their bikes on bord the bus 'Plauer See' as well as the cruise ships.
